BMS Design Engineer – London – £65,000

The BMS Design Engineer position
As a design engineer you will work specifically in the design stage of BMS. You may not be involved in the manufacture and installation of the systems you create but you will work with engineers to design the control panel, software and graphics.
Responsibilities
· Operating in the field ensuring safe working practices are always followed ensuring the highest safety and quality standards aremet, ensuring personal and customer safety is always maintained.
· Reviewing all project documentation, scrutinise mechanical, electrical, BMS and all other relevant specifications, review other trades technical submissions to identify areas of non-compliance and scope gaps.
· Learn the features, functionality, and benefits of proposed control systems. Design BMS with energy efficiency in mind.
· Work with other project engineers and managers to create equipment schedules, document schedules, interface schedules, commissioning sheets, method statements, crib sheets, outline target programmes, functional descriptions, points lists, network topologies.
· Attend factory acceptance tests off-site for control panels. Coordinate with software engineers and arrange internal and external software and graphics acceptance tests to ensure adherence to functional design.
· Liaise with design manager, project engineers, project managers, design engineers, software engineers, commissioning engineers and electricians to ensure a good understanding of the design and implementation of the project at all stages, and that good working practices are adhered to, such as organising and storing commissioning and as-built information.
· Deal positively with customer complaints, quickly resolving these in the most cost-effective way whilst also ensuring that high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.
· Ensure expectations have been met and the customer is fully satisfied with the work.
· Refresh knowledge and skill set by attending technical and procedural updates, adopting and applying new skills and working practices to enhance safety, customer satisfaction and efficiency.
Requirements
· Previous design experience of some kind, e.g., panel drawings
· At least 2 years’ experience working in electrical, mechanical or BMS engineering or a graduate
· BMS electrical or mechanical installation experience
· Networking experience
· IT skills
· Solid Microsoft office skills
· Good maths and English skills
· Well-presented
Salary package
Impressive salary ranging from £45k - £65k dependent on experience
